The name "CiBug" is composed of two parts – both essentially mean the same thing: Ci is a nod to the Latin word Cimex (bug), and "Bug" in English also stands for bug or beetle. The deliberate duplication emphasizes what CiBug is all about: a targeted trap for this specific type – discreet, effective, and specialized in the behaviour of bed bugs or similar crawling insects.
CiBug exploits the natural behaviour of bed bugs. The creatures enter a trap made of harmless cardboard. Inside, a mechanism with tensioned special paper ensures that the entrance is automatically sealed – without the bug noticing.
We recommend at least two traps per room – one on each side of the bed frame. In larger rooms or in cases of suspicion, additional traps may be advisable.
In many cases, this is a good sign: If CiBug remains empty over a longer period, it is highly likely that there is no active bed bug infestation.
No, CiBug is specifically designed for monitoring bed bugs or other types of crawling insects – with the aim of clearly detecting an infestation.
The trap relies on material psychology: Cardboard is perceived as familiar by bed bugs, and an attractant can be used if needed.
